Procedures and instructions

1 On the day of collection, discard the first urine of the morning (upon waking) into the toilet. Note the time on the container label: this is the zero (0) time of your 24-hour collection.
2 Next, collect and store in the container all other samples from the day, evening, night, and the following morning's first urine. This marks the end of the collection, or the 24-hour time point of your collection. Note the time on the container label.
3 If you miss a single collection during the 24-hour period, it will invalidate the result. You must start fresh the next morning. Thoroughly rinse your container and let it dry before beginning another collection. If there was a preservative liquid in your container when you started your collection, you must come to the clinic to get a new container with preservative.
4 Note: Do not collect from Friday to Saturday or from Saturday to Sunday as the offices are closed on weekends to receive your sample (also be aware of the rare but occasional holidays on Friday and Monday).

Put a few drops of olive oil or vegetable oil in the ear to be treated. It is very important to tilt your head to the side for 2 or 3 minutes to allow the oil to reach the bottom of the ear, where the wax plug is located. Repeat at least twice a day for 2 to 3 days before your appointment. If both ears need treatment, repeat the same procedure with the other ear, taking care to place a tissue in the ear you have already treated to absorb any excess oil that may flow out.

Immunochemical Test for Occult Blood in Stool (iFOBT or Fit Test)
Your doctor has prescribed an immunochemical test for occult blood (hidden blood not visible to the naked eye) in the stool. This is a simple test primarily used to screen for colorectal cancer.
Do not take the test if you have bleeding hemorrhoids. Wait at least one week without bleeding before collecting the sample. Inform your doctor during your consultation.
1 To prevent your stool sample from falling into the water, use a plastic container or an aluminum plate that you will discard after the sample is collected. You can also use the stool sample that is on the toilet paper after wiping.
2 Pull off the cap to open the collection tube.
3 Only a small amount of stool is needed to cover the tip of the stick. When there is enough stool in the grooves, the clear liquid in the vial will change color (to light brown) after one or two minutes. If this does not happen, add a bit more stool sample to the tip of the stick.
4 Once the collection is complete, keep your sample in the refrigerator (for a maximum of 48 hours).

1 Preferably collect the first morning urine (upon waking) in a clean, non-sterile container.
2 Important: Collect the first drops, about 20 to 30 ml of urine (about 2 tablespoons), and discard the rest in the toilet.
NOTE: Collecting more than 30 ml or discarding the excess to return to 30 ml can skew the result due to dilution. You must wait at least one hour and start a new collection if this occurs.

1 Obtain the special containers provided by the clinic (mandatory).
2 Collect the samples from any urination during the day EXCEPT the first morning urination (upon waking).
3 Collect as much urine as there is preservative liquid already included in the container (simply double the amount).

1 Take a clean but non-sterile container. Clean, rinse, and dry the container thoroughly.
2 Collect a sample (about 30 ml or 2 tablespoons) in the morning, approximately 30 minutes before your appointment time. Never collect samples from the night before.
3 Suggestion: For caution, wrap the container in a resealable (zip-lock) bag for transport.

1 Obtain a sterile container (sold in pharmacies) to collect your sample at home (Mandatory).
Note: Home sterilization is not recommended. These samples often need to be retaken. This significantly increases the delay in obtaining results to start treatment if an infection is present.
2 Before collection, clean the tip of the penis or the vulvar area with a damp washcloth soaked with very little soap.
3 Collect the sample in the morning upon waking**, not during the night. A collection of 30 to 40 ml is sufficient.
Note: ** Do not collect the first 2 or 3 seconds of the stream (Mid-stream). Use a resealable bag for transport (optional).
